Explain why you chose your blog’s title and what it means to you.
Explaining why I chose my name is easy enough and perhaps not as interesting as some others. I like an eclectic mix of poetry and prose from many genres. A few tend to stand out in my mind more than others, often riding along in the back of my consciousness until springing forth with a clarity embellished with truth. The day I started this blog was an exciting one for me because it was like starting a new chapter in my life. One I looked forward too. When it came time to name my blog though, I ran into some difficulty because as I discovered, there are many creative people in the world and chances are if you think up something brilliant.. someone else already has as well. A good many of the names I came up were already being utilized by others. The struggle to remain unique is an arduous one.
I wanted one that spoke of the many things I would be writing about such as my poetry, musings and often times, straight up ramblings, without pinning it down to only one subject matter. I spent several hours on the task, and had just about given up for the day when I spotted my favorite book of famous quotes lying on the table. I opened it up without thought to specific page numbers or content and landed on the very page that would be my guiding light.
“Words are things; and a small drop of ink, falling like dew upon a thought, produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think.” ~ Lord Byron
It was absolutely perfect! A drop of ink. Or in my case.. many drops. I have always been a believer in signs, and this was as direct as any sign could ever be or has been. I knew then and there what the name of this blog needed to be.. and Drops of Ink was born that very day.

I like your look here. You show lovely artistic flare. You chose a very nice name I think. It feels well suited to the ambiance you have displayed.
I love your Sandy Hook ribbon, that is a beautiful way to honor those lives lost. I also liked the quote that inspired you.
Thank you for the kind words.
Those in Sandy Hook deserve much more than a ribbon, but we do what we can to honor those that have been taken from us needlessly.
Beautiful quote by Byron. At the beginning of your piece you wrote “perhaps not as interesting as some others” but I love your story, signs are all around us some just don’t choose to listen, you did
I agree. Signs are everywhere, if one just opens their eyes and their hearts. Thank you for reading my posts.
