Daily Prompt: Menagerie

On today’s Daily Prompt: Menagerie we were asked..

Do you have animals in your life? If yes, what do they mean to you? If no, why have you opted not to?

(Bonus points for adorable animal photos, and double bonus if they’re taken with your phone!)

and my answer is YES, I have animals in my life. I have never not had animals. I think they make my life all the richer. I do not view my animals as pets.. they are as human as you or I. Complete with accidents πŸ˜‰ and shedding our hair everywhere. What? You don’t shed, you say? Well I do. I find long strands of my hair tangled up in almost everything. πŸ˜€

My dog

I get bonus and double bonus points for this photo.. adorable and taken with a phone. πŸ˜€ Though taking it was not an easy task. She is like me.. camera-shy. I had to set the phone timer (thank you Apple iPhone) and then coax her head to turn just in time. lol Forgive the slight blurriness. My other sweet dog was safely tucked away hiding under a chair and peeking out cheekily as though to say “better you than me” bwahahaha.

  2. I’ve had a few times in my life when I did not have animals, and I missed not having any animals during those times. When I study, I actually like having the cats out running around instead of locked away in a room (where they could not stand on my laptop or knock over the stack of papers I am grading).

My wife and I have three cats and one dog. The dog is awesome, and the three cats are pretty cool unless they are all in the same room at the same time.

Your dog looks like a sweetheart πŸ™‚

    • Thank you, she really is. Unless you get her around squirrels or cats lol. Then she goes into a “have to catch it” frenzy. πŸ˜€ She and her sister will be turning 9 this year and if memory serves and the tales are true, then that would be almost 63 dog years. I am hoping her squirrel and cat chasing days are over soon because I truly miss having a cat as well. I know what you mean about missing it when there are times you don’t have an animal. Our lives seem a little emptier without them. πŸ™‚
