So after giving it some thought, I have decided to make Tuesdays my official “Ask Phoebe” post day. Seems as good of a day to do it as any other, right?! 🙂
First and foremost, I would like to extend a very grateful THANK YOU, once more to Green Embers, because he made me this nifty “Ask Phoebe” banner that I can use for my weekly questions post. Isn’t he great! 😀
I have also decided to answer TWO questions in this weeks post because I have gotten a few asked already and I don’t want them to start backing up, nor for anyone to feel ignored. So without further babbling from yours truly.. here we go!
Question number one this week comes from lumar1298
Do you know anything about watermarking pictures? If you do, can you recommend a software that is easy to use… Something like, “watermarking for dummies”…
I use a Mac, and the software that I use is called Star Watermark Pro. It is neither free, nor easy to use unfortunately. Took me forever to figure that darn software out lol. As I have no idea whether you are running Windows or an OS from Apple, I will offer up a couple of suggestions for free online sites, so you don’t have to download anything. Plus most of what I could find online that claimed it was free, turned out to be free for a trial version only, and then expected you to eventually buy their product.
The first was Picmarkr. It can be used for either operating system and pretty much talks you through every step. It can be used for text, image or tiled watermark. When the image is complete, you can choose to upload it to flickr or Facebook and/or download it to your computer. It doesn’t give many options in the way of font that I could see, but for just a simple watermark, it should work just fine. They offer a pro version you can download for a price as well.
There is also watermarquee. It too is online, and I liked it much better. There were font and size options, as well as transparency, and color. They offer a pro version as well, that charges a small per month fee. I’m not sure what that includes, because to me FREE is always best. I did a test run with it and it was very easy to use. Heck, I may even switch to it. 😉
I hope that answers your question. If not, feel free to let me know and I can go digging a little deeper into the web. 🙂
Question number two came from Austin over at Moviewriternyu.
Hey, Phoebe, when are you going to post a photo of you on your blog? We’ve all been talking and we think your words would be even more powerful if we could see the writer. Is that a good question?
Well Austin, I think actually that you’ve asked me this before and I am going to stick with the same answer I gave you back then. 😉
I believe that my words (poetry, prose, rantings, reviews etc) speak for themselves. They come from my heart and they are what I wish my readers to see. I believe that too much emphasis is put on looks these days and I simply don’t agree. If I am pretty, do my words mean more than if I were ugly? If I am skinny, rather than heavier set, does my poetry hold less powerful imagery or meaning? Or vise versus. Does my refusal to share photos of myself mean that I am ugly or ashamed? No, it does not. It simply means that to me.. our hearts carry more weight and honor than our appearances.
I can be anything through my writing. Pretty, ugly, thin, fat, intelligent, challenged.. none of it matters. What matters is what I say, and what comes from the deepest parts of me. I’m not here to make a love connection, nor impress anyone with my sexual prowess or looks. I’m just me. Writer, poet, sarcastic and sassy little biatch who isn’t afraid to stand up for what is right, and put those in the wrong, in their place.
So keep on talking y’all.. because any word of mouth about my blog.. is better than no words at all. 😉
Well.. that is it for this week. Hope it was interesting and that you stay tuned for more next Tuesday. In the meantime.. KEEP THOSE QUESTIONS COMING! 🙂
